About me

I’m Shivam. I sit on your side of the table.

I’m a software engineer of about nine years. CodeBonkers is how I work with founders: one senior engineer, directly, on the decisions that are hard to undo.

Why this exists

The expensive mistakes happen early

I’ve spent most of my career inside products after the early decisions were made: the stack, the vendor, the shape of the data, the first hire. Some of those calls held up for years. Others cost months to unwind.

The difference was rarely talent. It was whether someone senior was in the room, on the founder’s side, when the call was made. CodeBonkers is me being that person.

AI coding tools have made building much faster, and I use them every day. They haven’t made the judgment about what to build, and what not to, any cheaper.

Tools I reach for

A boring stack, on purpose

I recommend what your team can hire for and run without me. These are what I know best, not what I’ll insist on.

  • TypeScript
  • Node.js
  • PostgreSQL
  • Next.js
  • NestJS
  • Mastra
  • Claude Code
What you won’t get

The parts of consulting I left out

  • No bait and switch. No juniors behind a senior name. You get me.
  • No hourly meter. You shouldn’t have to think twice before asking a question.
  • No upsell. I don’t take a cut from agencies, vendors or hires I recommend.

If this sounds like the partner you need, let’s talk.

Thirty minutes. Bring the decision that’s keeping you up.
